As in previous years\, we will focus on complications. Laparoscopy is no longer in its infancy and with its dissemination into the realm of the conventional\, \nit is now time to address some of the unintended consequences: Complications! \nThe course addresses both specialists\, fellows in urology/paediatric urology/surgery and residents in training. \nProctoring and training will focus\, mainly on robotic & laparoscopic complications. It is also a practical urologic laparoscopic training course on pigs – something always well received by the participants. We have assembled a renowned and experienced faculty of Scandinavian and European laparoscopists to demonstrate\, supervise and lecture on topics including: \n• Patho-/physiology of laparoscopy\n• Mechanical and technical complications • Troubleshooting\n• Haemorrhage\n• Organ specific injury and lesions\n• Perioperative complications\n• Convert vs. continue \nAll backed up by real-time animal lab-simulated catastrophes and clinical scenarios where possible. \nParticipants will get the chance to brush up on their urological laparoscopic skills\, including black box training\, trans-/retroperitoneal access to the kidneys\, ureter\, intracorporeal suturing techniques\, pyeloplasty\, Fowler-Stephens procedure for non-palpable testis and heminephrectomy/partial nephrectomy. The number of participants in the animal lab is limited to 18\, with 2 (-3) participants per pig. \nBe aware: This is a practical course with at least 14 hours of hands-on-training!
